The Orphans

The Orphans_resizeMax Matham is a self-employed freelance forensic accountant living in a quiet village in Buckinghamshire. Della Jont is a hard-nosed businesswoman who presses Max into working for her, investigating alleged financial irregularities at an orphanage in East Africa. Max soon finds that although the finances are okay, there are some disturbing things going on at the orphanage, and becomes involved in a set of intriguing events involving orphans, government agencies, witch-doctors, an old university chum and a multinational pharmaceutical company.

This is the first story involving Max Matham, but is unlikely to be the last!

The Orphans has been serialised on this site [link].
Published electronically by BookBaby ($1.99 or equivalent on major ebook platforms including Kindle, iBooks, Kobo and Nook).

Knight & Deigh

Knight and Deigh_resizeHannice Knight had been running the African operation of his father’s global business for many years, when a freak accident at home left him unable to walk. Together with physiotherapist Sophie Deigh, he tries to bring into his life the excitement and adventure he missed in his formative years, due to the need to be tied to the business.

A number of adventures and activities follow including scuba-diving, sky-diving, power-boating and camping, and a half-brother he never knew about; but even these can’t lift Hannice’s spirits.

What, or who can? Will the developing closeness between Hannice and Sophie come to anything, and what of the rumoured advances in medical technology?

I wrote Knight & Deigh for NaNoWriMo 2014 as a re-telling of and spin-off from The Orphans. It is under review & revision and is now being serialised on this site [link].

Kena’s story

A fictional memoir. Kena Nchango is the daughter of a shaman, living in an area that sees much change. Subtitled “one woman’s journey on life’s roadway”, this is Kena’s story.

Kena’s story was my offering for NaNoWriMo 2015 as a re-telling of and expansion of I think it’s called progress…, a story from 2014.

A bump in the Knight

A bump in the Knight_resizeIn Knight & Deigh, confirmed bachelor and businessman Hannice Knight suffered a back injury that left him without the use of his legs. Sophie Deigh, physiotherapist and recent widow, devoted herself to supporting him.

On his father’s death, Hannice inherited a global business and great wealth. Then, together with Sophie, he embarked on a series of activities designed to give him some of the excitement and the freedoms that he felt he had missed out on, by being tied to his father’s business for two decades.

As Hannice’s body recovered, he became ever closer to Sophie, and found himself drifting into a relationship with her that neither had anticipated or intended, and for which neither was fully prepared.

This book follows Hannice’s new adventures as he tries to juggle business, hedonism, marriage and ultimately parenthood.

A bump in the Knight was started for NaNoWriMo 2016. It will be completed over the coming months.
