As my contribution to the A-Z blogging challenge this year, I shall be offering each day a limerick or rhyme having as its subject the day’s keyword, the keywords being based on a selection of strange, unusual or interesting animals drawn from Strange Animals blog or a-z animals website.
At night, coming out of a thicket
You may see a really large cricket
Wetapunga’s its name
And when it comes to fame
It’s the largest insect – just the ticket.
A female – let’s make no mistake
Weighed seventy grams, give or take.
And, given that size,
When it rubs its thighs,
Just imagine the noise it can make!
