    • I can’t recall when I first heard about the aardvaark. It was probably seeing it so early in the dictionary and being fascinated by what seemed to be a silly name…

  1. Wonderful idea. Love the poem and I’m looking forward to the next one — a bee? a buffalo? a bat?

    • Thanks, Noelle. I’m afraid I shall have to keep you in suspense until tomorrow.
Quick clue – not bee, buffalo or bat 🙂

    • Thank you, Cheryl. I was fortunate enough to go on a night safari in South Africa a few years back. We saw, amongst other animals, an aardwolf, a porcupine and a Spring Hare, but sadly, we didn’t see an aardvark.

  2. I never knew their name meant “earth pig” until I read this post. Thanks for teaching me something new.

    • Thanks, Danielle. I learned that while researching, too. In fact I expect to be learning rather a lot this month.

Here's where you have your say…
