To my mind the object of &#039;Trust in&#039; is abstract, conceptual, indirect, generic, or remote. You can trust in God, you can trust in people&#039;s common sense, you can trust in the medical profession and so on. &#039;Trust&#039; on its own is, I believe, more direct - I trust my Doctor because he knows what he is doing (whilst I trust in his ability to fix me). Whilst either would be correct in the title, the meaning would be subtly different.

Two things this week, however - am I right in thinking that your blog title should be &#039;In whom can one trust&#039;?.  I am, of course, happy to stand corrected - grammar not being high on the priority of teaching at the Girls&#039; Grammar School in the 80&#039;s (ironically).

Also, when Clare kindly sent me some parsnip seeds a week or two back, I asked if it would be possible to see some pics of the potager (snow notwithstanding)?]]></description>
